You’ll get your hands dirty with Swift, learning the basics of data structures and how to manage the state of your app. You’ll see that creating an app from scratch is totally doable — and a lot of fun.

By the end of the session, you’ll gain key skills and insights on how iOS apps work, including how to add and manage list editing features. Best of all, you’ll have a working app that you’ve made yourself.

This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about app development or looking to get a jump-start on learning before diving into more detailed studies.

Get Ready to Code Along

To create your own app during the workshop, you need to take a couple of simple steps before we begin. So before the workshop, please:

• Install Xcode (if you need help, follow the instructions under Installing Xcode. Note that you do NOT need an Apple Developers account to participate in this workshop).
• Create a new project in Xcode (select an iOS app from File -> New -> Project).
• Make sure your project runs by pressing ⌘ + R.

When you see “Hello, World!” on your screen, you’re all set for our workshop!
